Who We Are

ANNUAL APPEAL

 Dear Friends,

We have a new name.  Rafiki wa Bukoba is now Bukoba Friends Foundation.

Bukoba Friends Foundation needs your support.  Our mission is to provide medical and educational assistance to the people of Bukoba, Northwest Tanzania.  This region is one of the poorest areas in Sub-Saharan Africa.  Many families subsist on less than $2 per day and lack access to sufficient healthcare, safe drinking water, and adequate educational resources for their children.

Over the past years, due to the support of our benefactors, we have provided assistance for:

St. Joseph Hospital in Kagondo, which was established by the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis in Springfield.

St.Nicholaus Children’s Center in Kemondo, a home for orphaned, disabled and vulnerable children.

Creation of a village bakery for employment of women in Kemundo.

Water projects including the first water line to the village of Kilimilire and construction projects at Holy Cross parish there and in other villages nearby.

Tuition, room, and board for Kilimilire orphans and St. Francis Teachers’ College students in Bukoba.

This work has been possible because of people like you—whose prayers and generous support have enabled Bukoba Friends Foundation to address some of the most urgent needs of the people of Bukoba, Tanzania.  By supporting our Annual Appeal, you will help us continue our mission of addressing their most urgent medical and educational needs.

Please consider a gift to help us fulfill our mission for the people of Bukoba.  No gift is too large or too small.  Simply complete the form on the next page and send it together with your check made payable to Bukoba Friends Foundation.

Although we may be separated by many miles, the people of Bukoba are our brothers and sisters.  May our prayers and financial support enrich the lives of all!

In Christ,

Dr. Jeanne Smith, President
